DIWALI @ SCT

YEAH..!!! yet another day as holiday. This was the thought about diwali..I lost hope in all the celebrations as I grew up..I don’t remember any such blasting days in my life..But yesterday everything changed all of a sudden. Those precious moments even though lasted for a few minutes..but those moments will be cherished all throughout my life.. In the morning small small pistons were in my friends hands, playing pranks on their friends .. It was funny.Our classes began.. As usual I was enjoying what was happening outside the class..We were enjoying the sound of crackers here and there and knew that something more than this would happen in the afternoon. We were waiting impatiently..aahh it was then the peon handed a notice to SIR. He read out ”NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO BURST CRACKERS IN THE CAMPUS..STRICT ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN WHOEVER DISOBEYS IT”. Just after that we heard the sound of crackers louder than earlier. We were relieved by that sound as we feared that the notice might put an end to our beautiful expectations. We were so anxious that we spent that period looking on our watches than our Sir’s face.

At last the waited moment arrived. Crackers in packets were seen in some boys hands..We were ready to have a blast!!!!.The crackers were burnt in the middle of three storeyed building where our classes held. All the students gathered to get a glance of it.We stood in front of our classes and watched ..The campus filled with noises,laughter,smoke all of a sudden..Bullet fireworks,rocket and what not…We were enjoying the pattern the smoke created .Sometimes it takes the pattern of a small circle,sometimes a big circle.All these were untolerable for our Principal that he send a staff to snatch some students who were bursting the crackers. By the time a big firework(malapadakam) was about to be lit, a staff came and asked to stop.He caught a boy who was going to lit the firework. By the time he caught that boy another boy lit the other side of the firework. It was really funny scene..Wow!!!..again those blasting sound. Then we saw the same guy being snatched by the staff coming happily waving his hands. Poor principal he was getting so irritated, that he called the police. Our celebrations were continuing. But when we saw the police coming instructions were passed to all friends not to burst anything. But our juniors lit a big malapadakam which was kept on the roof of our library building. It was a warm welcome for the policemen.They arrived here as they were informed that students have done damage to the building…But they were so surprised to see all the buildings standing still as they were. What they saw was the students celebrating a festival unanimously. There were no quarrels, no fights..only enjoyment and laughter.They might have felt to be a student on seeing this,that they became no hindrance to the celebration..We also heard that some boys took snaps with that policemen ..It was so amusing!!Soon we got diwali gifts from the Principal..SUSPENSION!!!We were asked to leave our classes..With a hesitated mind we had to leave the campus..But we heard some crackers bursting still..

Even after reaching home I couldn’t stop narrating the amusing incidents happened during the celebration .This would be a yet another incident I will cherish forever..I don’t want any obstacles to steal my memories .The memories of those moments which will never be regained………….
